OBJECTIVE: This workshop was dedicated to exploring quality and excellence in higher education.
Lloyd Institute of Management & Technology organized ‘NAAC AWARENESS WORKSHOP IN WEBINAR MODE On Exploring Quality and Excellence in Higher Education’ on 18th November 2023. The session was held in webinar mode from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The stalwarts from academia who contributed to the webinar were Prof. A.D.N. Bajpai (Vice Chancellor, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Vishwavidyalaya, Bilaspur), Prof. Jai Prakash Saini (Vice Chancellor, Madan Mohan Malviya University of Technology, Gorakhpur), Prof. Satish Verma (Vice President, IEA, Former RBI Chair Professor, CRRID, Chandigarh), Dr. Archana Dassi (Professor, Department of Social Work, Jamia Millia Islamia), Dr. Ajay Aggarwal (Managing Director & Chief Consultant – NAAC, Aggarwal Educational Solutions), and Ms. Latha Venkitachalam (Consultant – Alumni Relations, Aggarwal Educational Solutions).
The session started with the welcome address by Dr. Vandana Arora Sethi, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Growth, at Lloyd Group of Institutions. Dr. Sethi highlighted the importance of accreditation for higher education institutions. She also observed the possible challenges and points of learning that institutions face when going for NAAC for the first time.
The session then proceeded with the introduction of the eminent guests by Dr. Ajeeta Srivastava
The first segment was by Prof. A.D.N. Bajpai who shared his vision on the crucial aspect of innovations in research in higher education institutions. Prof. Bajpai highlighted the importance of inclusivity and accessibility of knowledge by different stakeholders. The second segment was by Dr. Ajay Aggarwal who held a detailed discussion on the various criteria of NAAC for Quality Audits and explained the technical nuances in calculation of scores. The third segment was by Prof. Archana Dassi who shared her valuable experience as a member for NAAC at a central university level. She emphasised on the iumportance of record keeping. The fourth segment was by Ms. Latha Venkitachalan who shared insights into leveraging alumni relationships to enhance educational quality.
The fifth segment was focussed on NAAC Core Values which was presented by Dr. Shivani Kapoor, Director, LIMT, on his behalf.
The workshop ended with a Vote of Thanks by Dr. Shivani Kapoor.
